Recently, we ran a campaign for a retail client to help them capture consumers mobile phone numbers to drive sales. The idea behind the campaign is we ran a giveaway with one of their products and then as a form of entry people could “opt-in” for future offers by giving us their cell phone. When we launched the campaign just over a week ago, we had no idea what the response would be. In 8 days, we have captured 121 people’s cell phone numbers, and just today, we sent out our first offer. Both the client and I think this will become a powerful marketing asset for their business. When it comes to giving up your cell phone, people have these on them 24/7/365. If you are like me, I even sleep by mine! Plus, when was the last time you received a text and DID NOT read it? Never.
You are not going to give us your cell phone number if you aren’t in the general area to make a purchase. This is key.
You are also not going to give us your number if you have zero intention of ever actually making a purchase. This is also key.
