30x Return on advertising spend!?
Recently we ran the results for clients on their sales for the month of February. This led to a very interesting discovery. This was the first time at scale we were able to do something very few retailers do with their advertising. TRACK THE RESULTS. Let’s cut to the chase.
You want results as a retailer, you don’t want to buy more advertising. Booooring.
Let’s go over the results. But first, let us dive into how this actually works.
We ran Facebook ads on Facebook and Instagram for our clients from 2/1/20 - 2/29/20. During this time, Facebook is tracking all of the views, clicks, likes, comments, share, etc on all of our client’s ads. This was a test with 35 clients.
Then, we take the clients POS from their customers (Name, date of purchase, amount, city, state, zip, Etc.) We then upload this data to Facebook and Facebook then tries to match them.
If someone say clicked on an ad on 2/4 and then purchases on 2/20 Facebook counts that as a “purchase”. Facebook ATTRIBUTES this ad to that purchase because it helped create that sale.
We are attaching the info from our customers into a simple format. Advertising spends, total purchases, and then the revenue generated.
